Thank you so much; you are amazing…I have read some of the later chapters and am amazed. It’s great. That will give them something to talk about. There is a lot from to study there and I must get the facts right before I claim it as my book. You are great. Thanks again. Will be in touch once I have read the whole thing again and probably with some changes. Those last few chapters are red hot.

Five things you should know about contracts with book writers

  • A book writing contract names the copyright owner. That protects you.
  • A book writing contract specifies the length of the manuscript.
  • A book writing contract confirms the price to write the memoir or biography.
  • A book writing contract specifies the payment schedule.
  • A book writing contract names the biography’s writer.

Five costs of book writing

  • Payment for writing, typically done in three instalments at THGM. This is usually the only cost.
  • Research, which would be paid by the hour, but is rare for memoirs and biographies.
  • Personal meetings. Some biography clients want face-to-face meetings with the writer, but this can also be costly.
  • Editing. While we edit and proofread manuscripts, it is always wise to have a totally unrelated editor review them before publishing.
  • Transcription. Some people want to provide their information by voice, either in person or by sending us a recording. If so, it will have to be transcribed into a written format that can easily be searched and scanned.

Five things you should know about the cost of writing your autobiography or memoir

We don’t compete on price. We compete on quality. If you want cheap, you’ll get cheap. If you want glamour, you’ll pay a lot. Our pricing is in between. It’s that sweet spot that is carefully designed to ensure that you get a top-quality writer without paying celebrity prices.

  • Writing is a labour intensive job. It costs money because it’s a lot of work.
  • Writing well takes skill. Good writers don’t work for minimum wage.
  • The longer the manuscript, the more it will cost to write.
  • Celebrity ghostwriters are usually quite good. So are ours, but you don’t pay extra for a fancy name.
  • There are some cheaper writers on the Internet. If quality is not important to you, hire them.
